Prince William was presented with Hero the Bear and a white babygro with the words ‘my daddy is a hero’ by two-and-a-half-year-old Jenson Boggi.
William said: “Thank you very much, it’s very kind.”
Jenson is the son of Corporal Josh Boggi, 26, who lost his right arm and both legs while serving in Afghanistan.
Cpl Boggi, from Berkshire, asked William whether he was looking forward to being a father.
The Prince replied: “Yes. All the mothers have been looking for me, ‘just you wait, just you wait’.”
Speaking afterwards, Cpl Boggi said: “It’s a brilliant day.This centre has been absolutely superb for me.
“It’s great for my son to be able to give it to him and he’ll be able to remember this day for the rest of his life… the future King… giving him his babygro.”
